About Me

My name is Abby Murray.  I came to know Christ as a child and have been doing my best to honor him ever since.  I thought I had been doing okay, you know, involved in the church and the youth group,  hanging out with "okay" people,  and trying to be a good person.  But, going to church doesn't make you a Christian,  hanging out with "okay" people turns you "okay" too,  and striving for to be a Godly person is a lot better than a good person.
Recently, I have realized how little I have done to show others my faith.  I have invited all of about 2 people to church, and maybe tell my friends once or twice a year about Jesus.  I needed to do more and I wanted to do more.  I asked God to give me a renewed passion for serving him and just about begged him to use me.  He has.  Within the first week of school, I have had 3 opportunities to share my faith, and I have taken all of them.
One of the things that sparked my passion to serve God was the song,  Set the World on Fire, by Britt Nicole (one of my favorite artists).

I wanna set the world on fire
Until it's burning bright for You
It's everything that I desire
Can I be the one You use?

I, I am small but
You, You are big enough
I, I am weak but
You, You are strong enough to
Take my dreams
Come and give them wings
Lord with You
Nothing I can not do
Nothing I cannot do

I wanna feed the hungry children
And reach across the farthest land
And tell the broken there is healing
And mercy in the Father's hands

My hands my feet
My everything
My life, my love
Lord, use me

This isn't all of it,  but enough to get the point of the song.  This song is my inspiration.  It is why I chose my blog title to be Set the World On Fire.  Like the song says, now I strive to set the world on fire for God, one blog post at a time.
